With over 30 years experience in the butchering trade, Kerrigans Butchers is a long established business offering High quality beef, pork and lamb to a loyal customer base throughout Dublin.
Set-Up in 1974, the business is based in Donaghmede Shopping Centre. We always believe our customers are the most important factor and this has been proven in the high quality of standards we adhere too.
Kerrigan’s multi award butcher shop is a 2nd generation family run business. With our team of highly trained and fully qualified staff we are able to turn out an outstanding array of quality meats. We have won many awards over the last number of years. Competitions are held 3 times a year by our association ACBI (associated craft butchers of Ireland) having over 600 members and judged by the Irish guild of food writers.
We are proud of the fact that we have received at least a gold medal in every year since its inauguration.
Our focus is on high quality products with all our produce being 100% traceable from local suppliers. In addition to traditional cuts, we offer a unique experience in our own ‘easy cook’ and ‘ready to eat’ range of products to cater for the modern lifestyle.
All our beef goes through our dry ageing process. By this we mean we use the traditional method of developing the flavour and we do not use the ‘wet aging’ technique that is now universal. We don’t believe that beef can really mature if its vacuum packed in a plastic bag. Our technique is to keep our beef in a temperature controlled ageing chamber. Gradually over a period of 20 days the beef looses moisture, it develops flavour and as the enzymes break down the muscle fibres, the meat also becomes more tender. The result is beef with superb cooking and eating qualities.
